"Mel has done several renovation projects for us, starting back three years ago in 2015 with building a smaller 10' x 15' deck and replacing fence boards (upon some recommendations of some good friends).
We liked him and the way he worked so much that we got him back in 2016 to replace three second story windows and two smaller basement windows, touch up fascia and siding and install trim around the new windows. A new back exterior door also replaced a old wooden core door and after all this, he volunteered to fix a large crack in our basement cement that had started leaking from all the rain that summer.
Spreading out our renovations, we had him back last year (2017) in the summer to rip out an old garbage bin area connected to our back fence and replace it with a new gate. We then had him back in the late fall to replace old carpet on our stairs and upper level with laminate, paint our bedrooms, paint and install new trim and baseboard and paint all the closet doors. Mel picked up the larger materials from the store (saving us some delivery fees) and hauled away the garbage and even hauled away some larger pieces of old furniture that we couldn't at the time. He also went out of his way to scout out stair nosing for us to save on time when we had other things on the go and couldn't get to it. When the project was done, a piece of the stair nosing became loose a couple of weeks later so we gave him a call (just after Boxing Day). He showed up the next day to fix it...what he didn't tell us until he got there though was that he had cracked some ribs just before Xmas but showed up promptly to fix it ANYWAY. Amazing.
Future projects are going be bathroom renovations, a new fence and maybe some landscaping. We have recommended him to my in-laws for fixing a leaky roof and replace windows. I wouldn't be far off if I mentioned that most, if not all, of our circle of friends have had Mel do some work for them.
Mel is extremely efficient and organized, always gives us great advice and answers all our questions. We really appreciate so many other things too, like how he always responds to emails or messages within a day (two at most), how the place is cleaned up at the end of each day and debris hauled away and last but not least, really reasonably priced. He is so easy to work with, always finishes as quickly as possible and does the best job with the budget available.
I would not hesitate one moment to recommend Shannon Construction. The only reason why I wouldn't is because he's so good we want to keep him for ourselves! We are extremely pleased with all that Mel has done for us this far, not only meeting but exceeding our expectations. Thanks Mel!"-David and Yina
